FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Here we answer the most common questions about our races, registration, starting order, and more.
If your question isn’t listed here, feel free to contact us directly!

How is the starting order determined for each race?

All UCI XCO races follow the current UCI regulations.
The starting order is based on the latest UCI ranking of the athletes.

Important: Participation in the Team Relay or your position in the overall standings does not affect the starting order for the UCI races.

The Team Relay has its own rules for starting order, which will be communicated shortly.

Can I be included in the overall standings if I only take part in the UCI races?

No, to be included in the overall standings, you must participate in all 4 UCI races plus the Team Relay.

Athletes who only compete in the UCI races will not be listed in the overall ranking.

Do I have to compete in all four UCI races, or can I just do one?

Yes, you can choose to participate in only one UCI race.

There is no obligation to start in all races during the week. Every rider is free to decide which races they want to compete in.

Why is there a price tier system? Why does it get more expensive later?

The MTB Junior World Festival is a unique event – exclusively for Junior athletes – designed to offer them a true season highlight.

Our goal is to support and inspire young talents transitioning to international competition by giving them valuable racing experience – including UCI points.

The tiered entry fees help us with early planning and financing. Higher fees for later registration also contribute to funding prize money and the complex organization of the event.

Since the festival focuses exclusively on the Junior category, there is no cross-subsidization from other age groups – making fair budgeting essential.

Thank you for your understanding!

Will the course be completely different each day?

Yes, there will be a new course variation every day!

Our races take place at two main locations, and the course is slightly modified for each race – offering new sections, challenges, and lines daily.
This keeps the racing fresh and exciting, even within familiar surroundings.

Is there an option for on-site camping?

Yes, there will be a designated camping area on-site.

If you’d like to camp, please make sure to register in advance via our form – this helps us coordinate space and ensure proper infrastructure.

You’ll find the link to the registration form on our website under Accommodation / Team Area / Camping.
